Liverpool 1 Wolfsburg 1

The Reds came from behind to grab a late goal in order to draw with German side Wolfsburg at Anfield.

In what was quite a disappointing first half for the Reds they looked like kids on a pitch that was twice the size they are used to.

Having beaten Molde last time out the Reds should have been ready for this match but Wolfsburg are a decent side from Germany - in fact a very successful one.

Suso went close with a curling effort but Toni Silva went closest when he beat his man before chipping over the advancing keeper only for a Wolfsburg man to clear in front of the line.

Suso did hit the far post with a free kick which Ryan McLaughlin would have scored with had he just got the faintest touch too.

Wolfsburg looked a well oiled side without really troubling the Reds. However on the stroke of half time the away side scored when a free kick evaded everyone until Hansen connected at the back post and it seemed to loop in over Belford.

There was plenty there for the Reds to go at but they certainly needed a rocket at half time from Rodolfo.

The Reds made a switch at the start of the second half with Suso being replaced by Adorjan. THe change needed to be made really as Suso had looked on another planet at times in the first half.

The Reds did satart a bit better in the second half and had a bit more pace about them. Raheem Sterling saw a shot hit the side neeting after he was found at the back post by Toni Silva.

The more the game went on though the more the pace dropped andalthough the Reds dominated the possession they struggled to create clear cut chances.

The Reds did get back on level terms though when suddenly a little bit of magic in the box from Adorjan left his man behind. Adorjan shot on goal and with Silva and Morgan both lurking it was turned in to his own net by full back Kleihs.

In stoppage time the Reds could have won it when Morgan was put through and after rounding the keeper his shot was deflected out for a corner and from that corner Coady saw a header blocked on the line with what looked like a hand to me but the ref played on and the keeper managed to grab the ball.

With the next Wolfsburg attack breaking down in our box from a foul the game was drawn to a close and the Reds at least had a point from the match.
