This was the first time the Reds ever met West Brom and by the end of the game they probably wish they hadn't having returned on the back of a 5-0 drubbing.
The Reds won the toss and made West Brom kick off. From the off West Brom were the better side but the Reds did have the ball in the net first but the ref disallowed it.
West Brom took the lead on fifteen minutes when Billy Bassett scored from very close range. The Reds were then forced down to ten men as Patrick Gordon was not able to continue due to injury.
It didn't take Albion long to score again - this time as Billy Williams scored from the spot after Andrew Hannah fouled his man.
Prior to half time the game was put well beyonf the Reds when Tom Hutchison scored from close range.
The second half saw the Reds running in to the wind which proved hard for them to score in. Roddy McLeod bagged a fourth for the home side before Richards scored a fifth late on with McCann largely un-sighted.
