The Reds made the final of the Liverpool Senior Cup with a victory over Tranmere Rovers at the academy. Generally speaking these days the Reds play Senior Cup games away from home but decided to use the academy after they were drawn at home.
Goals from Lauri Dalla Valle just before half time, David Amoo and an own goal both in the second half were enough for the Reds to secure victory over ten man Tranmere.
The visitors had Charlie Barnett in their side who was well used to the pitch having come through the Reds youth setup. They were reduced to ten men just after half time when Cresswell was shown a straight Red for a tackle on Steve Irwin.
As a result the Reds will play either Everton or Skelmersdale United in the final.
