The Reds lost their twelve match unbeaten run at the hands of Blackpool. McIntosh volleyed the home side ahead after just thirteen minutes of the match. Balmer hit the post before the he managed to scramble home an equaliser just before half time.

The home side again took the lead in the second half with Blair scoring on 65 minutes. It turned in to an end to end battle from then on as the Reds searched for an equaliser. The home side though bagged a goal three minutes from time to secure both points. Albert Stubbins pulled one back shortly after and Billy Liddell even went close to bagging an equaliser in the final minute but it proved a game to far for the Reds.
