The Reds have today announced that they have parted company with manager Kenny Dalglish.
Dalglish flew out to Boston for a meeting with owners FSG and after Dalglish returned home the news broke that Kenny Dalglish was sacked. Just eighteen months after taking over from Roy Hodgson and one full season in which he won the league cup and reached the FA Cup final but finished 8th in the league the club owners decided that a change was required.
The club owners stated that after careful consideration and a deliberate review of the season gone a change was deemed appropriate and that a search for a new manager would start immediately.
The owners accepted that Dalglish had put very solid foundations in place whilst in charge at the Reds and thanked him for everything that he had done.
Dalglish said that it had been an honour to return to the club as manager and an honour to lead the club to it's first trophy in six years but that talks had been held and the owners had worked in a very honourable way.
The final quote from King Kenny is the most telling of the man - "Finally, I want to put on record my heartfelt gratitude to Liverpool's fans, who have always given me and the Club their unwavering support. Without them neither the Club nor I would have achieved anything."
Kenny Dalglish is a Liverpool legend then, now and forever.
